Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service Peachtree City Georgia
535 am EST Monday Nov 23 2009

Short term /today through Wednesday/...
wedge pattern persists over the area with mainly drizzle and fog
this morning. The Wedge continues into Wednesday with some patchy
drizzle and low clouds through much of period. As a result of
persistent cloudiness...will hold temperatures below guidance
through Wednesday.

Long term /Wednesday night through Sunday/...
a low lifts from the plains into the Great Lakes Wednesday and
drags the associated cold front across the County Warning Area to allow a drier
air mass into the area Wednesday night...and stays with US through
Sunday. Both the GFS and European model (ecmwf) have similar solutions for the
period. Although...the rotation of this low does brings some
clouds and possibly enough moisture for a few showers over extreme
northern sections Friday. Otherwise...dry through the period.

&&

Aviation...
surface wedge will continue through the forecast period. This will
keep east winds...near 10kts through 15z...diminishing after that as
the gradient weakens with 5-7kts after 21z. Models keeping good low
level moisture below 850 mb and LIFR and IFR conditions will persist.
Patches of drizzle noted across portions of atl area and ahn will
diminish after 14z...csg/mcn could see ceilings in MVFR category briefly
this afternoon. Visibilities will increase to MVFR after 15z.
