Aviation...
/00z tafs/

Concern...gusty Crosswinds Wednesday before afternoon frontal passage.

Winds will stay up overnight with vigorous low level jet. Significant
westerly component should keep stratus east of metropolitan taf sites...
though Waco will likely see broken MVFR deck. A few hours of gusty
Crosswinds (18g28kt) with prefrontal veering and downward mixing
of westerly momentum. Front will arrive middle-afternoon metropolitan...
shortly thereafter at Waco. Introduced frontal passage windshift in outlook
period of all tafs...beyond which no significant changes will
occur during 24-30hr extension of tafdfw (wednesday evening).

Previous discussion... /issued 251 PM CST Tuesday Dec 2 2008/
as expected...breezy conditions and a dry airmass have resulted in
red flag criteria being met over much of North Texas this
afternoon. Gustiness will subside some after dark...but wind
speeds will remain in the 10 to 20kt range overnight.

Another breezy day on tap for Wednesday as southwest winds
gradually shift to westerly during the day ahead of approaching
front. Cold front should pass through North Texas during the
afternoon/evening hours. An isolated shower or two will be
possible along the Red River and across our eastern zones as the
front translates the region.

Expect dry weather for the late work week and weekend. Another
front will push into the area early next week. Models continue to
display disagreements on strength of front and amount of precipitation.
Will continue to monitor trends...but for now have backed off on
cold air and will keep probability of precipitation at slight chance.
