Synopsis...a Pacific trough will continue to move inland 
tonight...and a portion of this trough will clip northern Utah 
through the overnight hours. The next part of this trough will 
send a cold front into northern Utah Thursday as it passes to the 
north.

Discussion...a cold front currently stretches across portions of 
northern Utah this evening. The cold front is approaching the Salt 
Lake area at this time and should go through central Wasatch front 
shortly. A few showers developed ahead of this front in 
northeastern Nevada...although very minimal activity has occurred 
in northern Utah. While current forecast is likely too aggressive 
with probability of precipitation...will monitor trends for the next hour or so before updating. 


Gusty southerly winds continue across portions of central and 
southern Utah. A red flag warning remains in effect for another 
hour across these areas. See the fire weather discussion for 
additional details.

Aviation...a cold front is currently in the process of moving 
across the slc terminal. Winds will shift to the north to 
northwest by 04z and will shift to the south between 10-12z. 
There is a 20 percent chance the winds will shift to the south 
as early as 08z.

Fire weather...southerly winds will continue to decrease over the 
next few hours as stability increases overnight. Winds are 
expected to be weaker on Wednesday but should increase again on 
Thursday ahead of another storm system and hazardous fire weather 
conditions will be possible again.

Utah...red flag warning until 10 PM Tuesday for utz003-utz005-utz015- 
utz016-utz019-utz518.
