Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service Green Bay WI
304 PM CDT sun Mar 21 2010

Short term...tonight and Monday
a weak frontal boundary will push through the area tonight. Skies
should remain clear as this boundary pushes through the region.
The main effect of this boundary is to turn winds to the
northeast behind it. High pressure will build into the region on
Monday... bringing an increasing easterly flow across the region.
Went toward the colder guidance over the north...especially in
the typically colder locations with dry air mass in place. Across
northeast Wisconsin...winds are expected to turn to the northeast
overnight with a slight increase in winds from Green Bay and the
Fox Valley east to the lake. Took a blend of the colder NAM/warmer
mav guidance in this region.

With increasing easterly flow on Monday...temperatures more than
likely will not get out of the 30s near the Bay and lake. Inland...
temperatures should warm well into the 50s across central and north
central Wisconsin. Leaned toward the cooler NAM guidance from Green
Bay and the Fox cities east to the lake due to easterly flow at
the surface and cooler 925mb/850mb in this portion of the state.

Long term...Monday night through next Sunday. Split upper flow
will continue this week with significant systems staying to our
south. Weak upper troughs could produce some scattered light rain
or snow Tuesday and Thursday but nothing of consequence expected.
The models now bring a system in the southern stream far enough
north so that we could be on the fringe of some wet snow or rain
Saturday and Sunday.
&&

Aviation...VFR conditions will continue through Tuesday. Light and
variable winds across the region this evening will shifts to the
northeast late tonight into Monday morning. Winds are expected to
turn easterly on Monday with a more southeast component to the
wind across central and north central Wisconsin.
&&

Grb watches/warnings/advisories...
none.
