Synopsis
An area of high pressure parked over the southeast will continue to remain in place through Monday. At the same time...a non-tropical low over the western Gulf of Mexico will move toward the Gulf Coast. This low will be over the northern Gulf of Mexico on Monday...as Tropical Storm Ida moves into the central Gulf of Mexico. The systems will merge into a large extra-tropical low pressure system that will impact the region through Tuesday. The low will sweep into the Florida Panhandle Tuesday night...dragging a strong cold front through the region. High pressure will build in behind the front and remain in place through Thursday night.
