Synopsis For The Suwannee River To Destin Out To 60 Nm
Synopsis
At 1 PM EST Tropical Storm Ida was located near 18.5 degrees north and 84.1 degrees west...or about 230 miles southeast of Cozumel Mexico. The sharp difference in pressure between an area of high pressure over the mid Atlantic coast and Tropical Storm Ida over the northwest Caribbean will result in increasing winds and seas tonight and Sunday across the northeast Gulf...especially over the offshore waters. Gale conditions will be possible Sunday night and Monday as Ida moves northward into the Gulf. Although Ida is forecast to weaken as it merges with a cold front in the northern Gulf Monday night and Tuesday...high winds...rough seas...and heavy rain are still expected until late Tuesday when the cold front and remnants of Ida passes east of the region.
